For six years (2001-2007) Wayne was featured as part of Johnny Winter's powerful blues rhythm section, touring the world with the Rock/Blues legend as his drummer and spotlighted
vocalist. He played on Johnny's 2005 recording, the Grammy-Nominated "I'm a Bluesman" on the Virgin label.
"It's been a treat to work with Wayne June on the Johnny Winter CD: "I'm A Bluesman". His versatility on the final tracks and behind the scenes as a
drummer, vocalist and songwriter has been a major asset to the project, and so have his talents, positive
attitude and work ethic. This CD will excite people, and Wayne's contributions have done a lot to make that
possible."
Wayne's dynamic drumming and remarkable 3 1/2 octave vocal range have played
pivotal roles in a number of popular bands, including The
Cartells and Eight to the Bar. He toured and recorded with Blues
Legend Johnny Winter, has made appearances with The Harvey Brooks
Band, and done freelance work for such NE regional favorites as: Motown Review
and The Black Rock All Stars. His work in voiceover and audiobook narration has also
afforded his distinctive voice an international audience.
Wayne June is a freelance vocalist and drummer
of no small experience, has toured with various Rock, Blues and Rhythm & Blues bands
internationally, and is available for both studio recording and live dates.
